A large Virginia-based, not-for-profit health system with five hospitals in-network was in need of significant process improvements to its Accounts Payable (AP) system. The health system included approximately 2,200 beds and had annual net revenues of over $2 billion.

The client, a large cancer research non-profit, needed a cost-effective way to process checks and cash payments from fundraising events like races and galas. Up to 40,000 fundraisers and 1,300 employees collected the checks. The organization faced bottlenecks from manual processes, and the transaction entry was error-prone, time-consuming, and costly, taking 14 minutes and $5.22 to process each check.
